Maryland Food Bank
Salisbury, MD

Maryland Food Bank was overdue for an expansion for quite some time in order to continue to meet the needs of food-insecure Marylander’s on the Eastern Shore. Gillis Gilkerson was hired to revitalize the business office space, boost the facilities cold sort room in order to enhance the volunteer program experience and expand their distribution efforts.
The project covers 16,316 square feet and was broken up into three phases. Phase 1 included the addition of a new cold storage facility with insulated panels and refrigeration located behind the original Food Bank facility. Phase 2 was an interior office renovation that reconfigured and enhanced offices with new flooring, ceilings and walls. Phase 3 updated the warehouse with new doors and other miscellaneous repairs.
