Wicomico Yacht Club
In December, 2016 a two-alarm kitchen fire badly damaged the Wicomico Yacht Club causing extensive damage to the facility’s 5,000 square foot main building. It was estimated the club house suffered $300,000 in damage to the structure and another $200,000 to its contents.
Gillis Gilkerson was hired to rebuild the structure. The team elevated the new building six feet to sit above the flood point and meet code requirements. The project included a new dining area, restrooms, and an indoor bar and modern commercial kitchen. A deck and cantilevered walkway surround the perimeter of the club house. A wheelchair lift was also installed on the outside of the building.
